The ISO/IEC 27001 information security management system standard provides companies with a framework for risk management and threat protection with the goal of protecting information assets.
After the last version was released back in 2013, the new version ISO/IEC 27001:2022 deals with the new scenarios that companies face. There have been changes especially in Annex A, where some security controls have been added, removed or combined.
This course will examine these changes and discuss how to effectively address the transition by 2025. The transition to the new standard represents an important opportunity to improve information security and take advantage of the innovations in the standard.
Aims
The purpose of the course is:
– Give a crisp understanding of the changes made;
– Understand the structure of the new controls in Annex A of ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and the use of ISO/IEC 27002:2022;
– Recognize the necessary changes to be made to management systems already implemented with the previous version (ISO/IEC 27001:2013).
Prerequisites
Good knowledge of ISO/IEC 27001:2013 or experience in implementing/managing an information security management system.

– Analysis of the modified requirements
– Analysis of Annex A controls and use of ISO/IEC 27002:2022 to understand the controls and their attributes
– Timing of the transition
– Approach to the transition
– Suggestions for an effective transition design that minimizes impacts
